Santa Visits Knockconan
Santa Claus made a surprise visit to Knockconan NS with the help of Monaghan Men's Shed last week. He interrupted PE with Allstar Rory Beggan to deliver Christmas Annuals to every child to keep them busy over the Christmas period.
Each child was photographed with Santa before he was serenaded with carols from every class. Waving goodbye he reminded everyone of the importance of books and reading.
The staff and pupils wish to sincerely thank Danny Gallagher and Monaghan Men's Shed for facilitating the visit at a very busy time of year for Santa.

Knockconan Kids learn First Aid
All of 5th and 6th class with their First Aid certificates. A big thank you to Mrs Douglas for her work on this.
Children in Knockconan National School are learning important first aid skills and senior pupils have already gained certificates in Basic Life Support.
Staff member Mrs Douglas has trained all 4th, 5th and 6th class pupils and the intention is to up-skill as many children as possible to know what to do in an emergency.
All staff members in the school have been trained in occupational first aid and indeed recently updated and refreshed their training after two years.
"It is important for everyone, including children, to have the confidence to know what to do in an emergency. Training at every level can help us recognise a problem and take action appropriately. All the children really enjoyed doing the course and the school sincerely thanks Mrs Douglas for her contribution to this important project," said Emer Brennan, Principal.
